Government of Goa declares Friday, May 5, 2023 as a ‘Paid Holiday’ being the “Polling Day” for General Election to Ponda & Sanquelim Municipal Council.

District Magistrate, #NorthGoa imposes Section 144 in the view of Sanquelim Municipal Council Election Scheduled to be held on 5/05/2023 & counting on 07/05/2023. DM directs all restaurants, Bars, tea shops, pan shops, Eateries & other food shops/joints (Dhabas, Gaddas) etc. situated in Sanquelim Municipal Council within100mtrs of the polling station to remain Closed. DM has further banned any gathering or crowd comprising of more than 5 persons within 100mtrs of polling stations within the area of Sanquelim Municipal Council in North Goa District.

Government directs all the licensed premises “for the sale of liquor” to remain closed on 4/5/2023, 5/5/2023 & 7/05/2023 within the areas of Ponda & Sanquelim Municipal Council on account of Polling day & Counting in view of General Election to Ponda & Sanquelim Municipal Council. The owners of the licensed premises having Bar and Restaurant shall display a board in the premises stating that No Liquor will be served and that only the Restaurant is open for serving food.

Government directs that no liquor shall be transported from one place to another within the areas of Ponda & Sanquelim Municipal Council. The order shall remain in force from 04/05/2023, 05/05/2023 & 07/05/2023 in view of General Election to Ponda & Sanquelim Municipal Council.
