Access to the Goa Medical College (GMC) Hospital in Bambolim has become increasingly difficult due to a highway misalignment, leading to frequent blockades that hamper ambulance movement, according to Amit Patkar. Patkar has called out the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) and tagged Minister Nitin Gadkari in a social media post highlighting the issue.
“Due to the mess created by MoRTH in alignment of Highway at Bambolim, access to Goa Medical College Hospital has become difficult, causing blockades time and again to ambulances carrying critical patients,” Patkar stated. He criticized the local police, alleging that they prioritize penalizing vehicles parked inside the subway over ensuring smooth traffic flow.
Patkar emphasized that he had previously raised this concern in an email, urging for immediate action to alleviate the congestion and improve access for emergency services. The ongoing traffic issues at Bambolim have sparked frustration among residents and medical staff, who are demanding swift and effective solutions to prevent further disruptions.
