The District Magistrate of North Goa has issued an order mandating the closure of all hotels, eateries, and other food establishments within a 100-meter radius of the Government Polytechnic College in Altinho, Panaji on June 4, 2024. This measure is to ensure the smooth and secure counting of votes scheduled for that day.

Starting from 6:00 AM until the completion of the vote counting process, establishments such as restaurants, bars, tea shops, pan shops, and other food joints (including dhabas and gaddas) must remain closed. This action aims to prevent misuse of these venues and to avoid potential law and order issues arising from crowd gatherings.

Issued by the Department of Information and Publicity, Government of Goa, this directive is part of the efforts to maintain public safety and order during the critical phase of vote counting.
