In a bid to streamline emergency services, the Department of Information and Publicity, Government of Goa, has announced the imminent installation of an arch (iron guard) at the entrance of the road leading to the KTC Bus Stand in Margao. The decision comes from the District Magistrate of South Goa and aims to facilitate unimpeded passage for emergency vehicles, notably fire trucks and ambulances, during critical situations.

The arch, strategically positioned near the Piedade Saibinn Chapel along the route from the PJN Stadium road, is poised to alleviate potential traffic bottlenecks and ensure swift access for emergency responders. With its implementation, authorities anticipate a marked improvement in response times and operational efficiency for emergency services operating in and around the Margao area.

While specific details regarding the height and material of the arch remain undisclosed, the primary objective is clear: to bolster the region’s emergency preparedness and mitigate any potential obstacles that could impede timely assistance during crises.

The installation process is slated to commence promptly, although no definitive timeline has been provided for the completion of the project. Concerns regarding potential traffic disruptions during the installation phase have yet to be addressed by the authorities.

Stay tuned for further updates as Margao gears up to reinforce its emergency infrastructure with the installation of this crucial arch at the KTC Bus Stand entrance.
