Madgaon Royals start on a winning note while Mapusa Dream Crushers and
PDK Kings match ends in a TIE on the 2nd day of the EMR Sarsangan Super
Series Cricket
MATCH 3: Madgaon Royals vs Laziz Super Kings:
In the morning match, Madgaon Royals beat Laziz Super Kings by 8 wickets and
41 balls to spare.
Put in to bat first, LSK put up 124/8 in their allotted 20 overs, thanks to their
captain Amod Borkar who did the bulk of the scoring making 45 (37 balls, 6 x
4s) while receiving support from Sahil Adwalpalkar 21 (12 balls, 1 x 4s, 1 x 6s),
Rauji Kakodkar 17 (24 balls, 1 x 4s, 1 x 6s) and vice-captain Varun Kudchadkar
11 (17 balls, 1 x 4s). Madgaon Royals were quite good in their bowling
conceding just under a run per ball till the 17 th over with Vikram Gaitonde (2-13
off 4 overs) and Aditya Dalal (2-22 off 3 overs) picking wickets at regular
intervals and thus applying brakes on the LSK scoring rate. Only a 38 run
partnership off 32 balls for the 3 rd wicket between Amod and Varun gave some
sort of respectability to the LSK innings. For MDC, Siddhesh Prabhu Alvenkar 1-
11, Shaunit Sawardekar 1-22 and Mahendra Audi 1-22 were the other
successful bowlers.
In reply, MR were off to a flying start racing to 35 in just under 4 overs, thanks
to the two openers Damodar Pai Patnekar 52* (38 balls, 8 x 4s, 1 x 6s) and
Aditya Dalal 17 (9 balls, 1 x 4s, 1 x 6s). However a sudden rush of adrenalin cost
Aditya his wicket and a direct hit from Viraj Puranik found Akhil Gaitonde short
of the crease. The loss of 2 wickets in 2 balls, however didn’t deter the skipper
Damodar and Mihir Audi 30* (23 balls, 3 x 4s, 1 x 6s) and their 50 run
partnership off just 38 balls for the 3 rd wicket effectively took the match away
from LSK. The formalities got completed with Siddhesh Prabhu Alvenkar 16* (8
balls, 3 x 4s) and Mihir stitching an unbeaten 39 run partnership for the 4 th
wicket off just 17 balls to take the Royals home with 8 wickets and 41 balls to
spare.
For LSK, their skipper Amod Borkar was the lone successful bowler picking 1-31
off his 3 overs. Damodar Pai Patnekar won the EMR Man of the Match medal
and a pair of batting gloves from Suhas Bhat and Haresh Kakodkar, for his
brilliant innings as captain for the Madgaon Royals.

Sachin Sardesai finding Kaushal Churi short of the crease. However, 12 th
Science student, Neel Sanjay Netravalkar 50* (31 balls, 4 x 4s, 3 x 6s) soon
made life uneasy for PDK with his enterprising innings striking the ball to all
parts of the field, stitching two useful partnerships for the 2 nd and 3 rd wicket in
the process. The MDC skipper Venktesh Prabhu Verlekar 29 (25 balls, 1 x 4s, 1 x
6s) also played a crucial part putting up 37 run partnership for the 4 th wicket
with Sanjay Netravalkar 21 (17 balls, 2 x 4s) and 33 run partnership for the 5 th

both the openers Anish Prabhu Mahambre 11 (9 balls, 2 x 4s) and Sachin
Sardesai 20 (13 balls, 3 x 4s) in the bargain. A superbly crafted innings by
Siddesh Sinai Amonkar 51* (38 balls, 3 x 4s, 2 x 6s) and his partnerships with
Pratham Kossambe 18 (23 balls, 1 x 4s) and Animesh Prabhugaonkar 25 (18
balls, 2 x 4s, 1 x 6s) got the PDK Kings back into the match. With 50 needed in
the last 5 overs, Prasheel Kamat 17 (13 balls, 4 x 4s) and Animesh tore into the
MDC attack with a 33 run partnership in just 17 balls, putting PDK in the drivers
seat. Two good catches by the young brigade of Neel Netravalkar and Mehank
Dharwadkar, right on the boundary rope, not only saved 12 runs but also got
an important point for MDC as a result of the Tie, with Yash Prabhugaonkar
conceding just 7 runs off the 20 th over, with PDK Kings also making 158/7 in 20
overs.

Churi 2-28 who received good support from Mahesh Churi 1-14 and Rajaram
Kundaikar 1-34. Animesh Prabhugaonkar won the EMR Man of the Match
medal and a pair of batting gloves from Sameer Kunde and Samar Dubashi, for
his brilliant all round display for the PDK Kings.
