In a series of events, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant took part in the Empowered Committee Meeting of CARES (Coding & Robotics Education in Schools), felicitated winners of various programs, and launched the ACTIZENS’ Club Program for Government Aided Schools. The meetings and ceremonies were held at Mantralaya, Porvorim, and attended by key officials and education stakeholders.
During the Empowered Committee Meeting of CARES, chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, discussions were held on advancing coding and robotics education in schools. The meeting saw the participation of Secretary (Education) Shri. Prasad Lolayekar, IAS, Director of Education Shri. Shailesh Zingade, Chairman of Goa Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education Shri. Bhagirath Shetye, Director of Directorate of Technical Education Dr. Vivek Kamat, and other officials.
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant also took the opportunity to honor the winners of various competitions, including Goa Codes 2023, Orientation Program for Special Educators & Students with Special Needs (Divyang), Design Thinking Goa 2023, and the Codeavour 2022 International Winners, as part of the “Celebrating the Change Builders” initiative. Additionally, the Chief Minister launched the Revised ICT Teacher’s Handbooks for Class VI Elective & Class VIII Regular.
In a further move to enhance the educational landscape, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated the ACTIZENS’ Club Program for Government Aided Schools in association with Desh Apnayen Sahyog Foundation. The program aims to empower students and instill civic values. The launch event at Mantralaya, Porvorim, was attended by Director of Education Shri. Shailesh Zingade and Director of SCERT-Goa Dr. Shambhu Ghadi.
The Chief Minister’s active involvement in these initiatives underscores the government’s commitment to promoting technological education, recognizing academic achievements, and fostering civic responsibility among students.
