Panaji, Goa – April 26, 2024: Travelers in Goa be advised! Expect traffic disruptions tomorrow, April 27th, due to a VVIP visit and public meeting. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued a traffic advisory outlining road closures and diversions on National Highway-566 (Old NH-17B).

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Road closures: The stretch of NH-566 between Dabolim Airport Junction and Birla Cross Junction, as well as the stretch between Birla Titan Junction and Dabolim Airport Junction, will be completely closed for regular traffic from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
  • Diversions: Traffic heading towards Panaji, Margao, and the IDC area will be diverted from Dabolim Airport Junction towards Chicalim and Cortalim junctions. Traffic going towards Vasco will be diverted from Birla Cross Junction to the Sharayu Toyota Slip Road, Cortalim Junction, and Chicalim Junction.
  • Heavy vehicle restrictions: Heavy vehicles, except those carrying essential supplies, will not be permitted on NH-566 (Old NH-17B) between Varunapuri Junction and Birla Cross Junction on April 27th.
  • Parking restrictions: Parking will be strictly prohibited along NH-566 (Old NH-17B) from Varunapuri Junction to Birla Cross Junction, and along MDR-43 from MES Junction to Queen Junction.
