During his stay, PM Modi engaged in several important meetings. He met with the Grand Mufti of Egypt, Sheikh Shawki Allam, where they discussed matters of mutual interest and highlighted the importance of religious cooperation between the two nations.
Additionally, PM Modi had a productive meeting with Mr. Tarek Heggy, a renowned Egyptian author and petroleum strategist, as well as with Ms. Reem Jabak and Ms. Nada Adel, prominent Egyptian Yoga instructors. These meetings focused on promoting cultural exchange and cooperation in respective fields.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister had an enlightening conversation with Mr. Hassan Allam, CEO of Hassan Allam Holding Company, discussing India’s private sector growth and sharing valuable insights.
PM Modi’s dedication to promoting Yoga was also evident as he engaged with Egyptian Yoga practitioners, emphasizing the significance of Yoga in promoting peace and intellectuality. The Prime Minister’s commitment to the Yoga community in Egypt showcased his interest in strengthening ties through spiritual and wellness practices.
In recognition of his exceptional leadership, PM Modi was conferred with the ‘Order of Nile,’ Egypt’s highest state honor, by President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi at the Presidential Palace in Cairo. This marked the 13th highest state honor conferred upon PM Modi by various countries worldwide.
During his visit, the Prime Minister also made cultural visits to significant landmarks in Egypt, including the Al-Hakim Mosque, the Heliopolis Commonwealth War Grave Cemetery, and the Pyramids, emphasizing the deep people-to-people ties between India and Egypt.
