In a national conclave held to commemorate nine years of the BJP-led NDA government, Union Minister Anurag Thakur emphasized that the remarkable progress witnessed by the common man in the last nine years was made possible due to the support of voters for a decisive leader, Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Thakur hailed India’s transition from a struggling economy plagued by corruption to becoming one of the world’s top five economies under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership. He attributed this success to the government’s focus on last-mile delivery of initiatives, ensuring that the benefits reach every citizen, even those at the end of the queue. The combination of dedicated service, visionary ideas, effective governance, technological advancements, transparency, and accountability in service delivery has brought about a qualitative change in people’s lives, Thakur stated.
The national conclave, organized by Doordarshan, witnessed the participation of industry leaders, prominent sports personalities, actors, and environmentalists. The event was inaugurated by Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Railway, Communications, Electronics, and Information Technology Minister. Vaishnaw echoed Thakur’s sentiments and highlighted the transformative changes the Modi government has brought to the lives of the less fortunate. He mentioned that 3.5 crore individuals have received permanent housing, 12 crore households have access to tap water, and 9.6 crore homes have received cooking gas connections, all due to the stable and decisive leadership provided by Prime Minister Modi.
Vaishnaw emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing fundamental human needs, citing the construction of toilets in every household as an example. He noted that this initiative has revolutionized women’s safety and sanitation, with 11.72 crore toilets constructed to date. The minister also highlighted the government’s strong focus on national security, stating that India now possesses the means and determination to respond to any acts of terrorism.
Thakur commended the government’s efforts to shed the legacies of the colonial past and embrace modern and domestic symbols. He pointed to the upcoming inauguration of the Kartavya Path and the new parliament building as evidence of this commitment.
Both Thakur and Vaishnaw urged the public to vote for decisive leadership to ensure India’s emergence as a developed country by 2047. They emphasized the power of the vote in bringing about positive change and transformation.
The achievements highlighted during the conclave demonstrate the government’s dedication to uplift the lives of the common man through various initiatives focused on economic growth, public services, national security, and social welfare. The event served as a platform to reflect on the progress made under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and reiterate the government’s commitment to a brighter future for India.
