Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant laid Foundation Stone for the work of “Construction of Barrage & 250 MLD Raw Water Pumping Station on Chapora River in Sal- Ibrampur village for Water Treatment Plants, supplying drinking water to Bicholim, Bardez & Pernem Taluka” in the presence of WRD Minister, Shri. Subhash Shirodkar, Bicholim MLA, Dr. Chandrakant Shetye, Pernem MLA, Shri. Pravin Arlekar, EDC Chairman, Shri. Sadanand Shet Tanavade, Chief Engineer, WRD, Shri. Pramod Badami & others were also present.
The project consists of Unique multi utility project of barrage at across Chapora river, and 30 Bandharas, Inter linking of rivers and development of lakes, bridge, drinking water treatment plants. It will provide drinking water and for irrigation to Pernem, Bardez and Bicholim taluka.
