Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant attended and addressed the celebration of International Women’s Day 2023 organised by Goa State Rural Livelihood Mission (GSRLM) in association with National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). The occasion witnessed the presence of North Goa ZP President, Siddhesh Naik, General Manager-NABARD, Industrialist Hiteshri Upadhyay from Gujarat, DRD Bhushan Sawaikar and others.

The celebration focused on two concepts i.e., DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality and International Year of Millets 2023.

Chief Minister in his address focused on the significance of Millets in the daily diet. He mentioned that the Department of Agriculture is on a mission to bolster Millet production in Goa.

He further encouraged the SHGs to manufacture local produce and engage in business-related and marketing activities. He highlighted the need of going Vocal for Local and supporting women to enhance their business.

Chief Minister said, “Goa Government has established Rural Marts in multiple talukas and is determined to establish the marts in all 12 talukas with NABARD.”

Goa Government is taking efforts to introduce marketing, branding, and business policies to the rural sectors encouraging the work of the Rural Livelihood Mission. RDA is also encouraged to establish a network with the SHGs and the market.
